Death
Something most Westerners have an issue discussing is the fact that we all die. Death is a messy subject and certainly isn't the most popular thing to say on a first date or when hanging out with a new group of people. Although the secret is no secret at all, Americans treat death as something that is taboo and ultimately avoided.
In this episode, Andrea and Melody go into the details of death meditation, the importance of facing this morbid fact, and why death can serve as a liberation when used as a conscious tool to redefine how you're living your life. If you got the news that you only have 24 hours left to live, how would that affect how you went about your day? Would you relish the life you created or wish you had done things differently? Would you treat people differently? Why do we tend to act as if we'll live forever? And how would your life change if you thought about dying every day? Philosophers have discussed all fears rooted in the number one fear of dying. Suppose you're no longer afraid of detaching from this human experience, and you free yourself from lingering fears that would usually hold you back from creating and experiencing your daydream(s). How would your life be different from what it is at this moment?
Life is happening now, not tomorrow, not yesterday: now. Death is also happening now. Which one will you choose? As for me, I choose to live fully in the direction of my wildest daydream because this moment could be my last. So connect, love, enjoy, and celebrate - as if your life depends on it.
